The Allen Ford Graham Gooch Cricket Centre is based at The Cloudfm County Ground in the heart of Chelmsford City Centre.

First opened on 28th September 1977 by Sir Hubert Ashton. KBE. MC. DL, the centre was originally built with four lanes before the building was extended to accommodate an additional two lanes. The improved facility was then unveiled on Monday 23 November 1992 by the then President of Essex County Cricket Club, Tom Pearce. OBE. TD in the presence of other post war captains of the club. This included Doug Insole, Trevor Bailey, Brian Taylor, Keith Fletcher and Graham Gooch.

The centre is home to the Cloudfm County Cricket Club First XI squad during the winter months and is used by the likes of Simon Harmer, Alastair Cook, Jamie Porter and Club Captain Tom Westley. The centre has also been used by past Essex greats including Graham Gooch, Nasser Hussain, Ronni Irani and Darren Gough.

The facility caters for ages 5 and above and offers; 1-2-1 Cricket Coaching for both adults & juniors, Holiday Coaching Courses and Indoor Cricket Leagues.

The Allen Ford Group Graham Gooch Cricket Centre boasts spacious changing rooms and shower facilities, a public viewing gallery and ample on-site Pay & Display parking and is available to hire from 9:00am until 10:30pm throughout the year.
